Keeping Girlguiding Ulster's members more connected
Girlguiding is the UK’s leading organisation for girls and young women, dedicated to building confidence and raising aspirations. Girlguiding Ulster came to us with a clear goal to keep their members more connected and up-to-date than ever before through the creation of an app - a first of its kind for the organisation!
I led the design of the project from discovery through to final UI, shaping an experience that feels both engaging and easy to use. As a former Brownie and Guide myself, contributing to this project felt especially meaningful.

With an established website already in place, it was important that the app aligned closely with the existing brand identity and tone, while also holding its place as a product in its own right.
Members of the organisation span a broad age range - from under 10 to 18+ - so accessibility and usability were very important when approaching the project. I prioritised an intuitive navigation, clear content hierarchy, and thoughtful visual design to ensure the app is easy to use for different ages and abilities.
The app brings together news, events, and training opportunities into one mobile experience, allowing members to stay connected on the go. Personalisation features allow users to select the categories most relevant to them, while push notifications provide updates, from important announcements to surveys and polls, helping users get more involved and voice their opinions.

The result is an intuitive, user-friendly app that feels aligned with the existing digital presence, and puts Girlguiding Ulster ahead of the crowd. Accessibility and UX best practices informed every decision, supported by the creation of a scalable design system that can be used for future app features and pages.
